Supervisory Scheduling Operations Officer

If selected for this Supervisory Scheduling Operations Officer position, you will serve as a first line supervisor for Security Operations (SO), within the Transportation Security Administration (TSA), Department of Homeland Security (DHS). Your duties typically may be over multiple units, projects, or programs within an airport. You will report to the Assistant Federal Security Director-Screening (AFSD-S), the Assistant Federal Security Director - Mission Support (AFSD-MS), or other designated management officials. Duties and responsibilities will include the following:
Assisting with coordinating the day-to-day operational activities related to screening functions at an assigned airport such as scheduling all screener operations activities. Implementing and overseeing the performance and enhancement of security and screening standards for airports/airline employees and passengers, their baggage, and all other personnel and goods subject to screening that enter the sterile area. Coordinating with management on requests for overtime ensuring justification is appropriate given the daily schedule. Implementing required shift and annual leave bids in accordance with the CBA. Managing and supporting the collection of various performance metrics to identify inefficiencies and areas in need of process improvement. Developing staffing models based upon metrics and data such as future throughput projections, authorized FTE, current staff composition/onboard strength and training requirements. Coordinating with payroll staff to ensure accurate processing of payroll. Performing quality assurance audits as directed. Communicating information concerning personnel policy and procedures, safety hazards and equipment to the Federal Security Director. Receiving daily briefings from Screening Managers regarding personnel staffing needs, sign-in/sign-out sheets, safety hazards, maintenance needs, and incident reports. Performing semi-annual screening security risk assessments and staying abreast of local airport emergency plan (e.g. alarms, evacuations, etc.). Supervisory/Managerial duties include serving as a first line supervisor for the organization. This includes but is not limited to:
assigning work, setting priorities, and reviewing and evaluating work and performance of subordinates; approving leave; coaching and developing employees; recommending corrective or disciplinary actions; assisting in budget planning and projecting short-term needs; managing projects within assigned resources; resolving routine problems that typically impact the objectives of the organizational unit; and when required, coordinating with customers outside the immediate organization. To qualify for the SV-I Pay Band, (equivalent to GS-13), you must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the SV-H Pay Band or GS-12 in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private sector. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE is defined as experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Such experience will include developing staffing models; coordinating or scheduling day-to-day operations activities; and serving as an information resource regarding personnel policies and procedures.National Service Experience (i.e., volunteer experience):
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.Note:
Credit for experience is given based on a 40-hour workweek. Part-time experience is credited on a part-time ratio, i.e., working 20 hours per week for two months equals one month of experience. No additional credit is given for overtime.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
