Legal Administrative Specialist (Litigation Support)

If selected for this position, you will serve as a District Litigation Support (LS) Specialist responsible for providing technical and analytical assistance involving Litigation Support and other IT areas which support the information management needs of the United States Attorney's office (USAO). The USAO IT environment includes personal computers, routers, switches, bridges, a wide area network and local area network, operating systems, case management systems and litigation, support operations. Typical work assignments will include:
Perform essential litigation support tasks associated with day-to-day operations. Create and coordinate litigation support services (including trial preparation and presentation) in response to customer needs. Perform testing, quality assurance, configuration, installation, implementation, maintenance of Litigation Support resources used for the transmission of information in data, voice and/or video format. Ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of systems, networks, and data through the planning, analysis, development, implementation, maintenance, and enhancement of information systems security programs, policies, procedures, and tools. Design, develop, test, implement and manage internet, intranet, and extranet Litigation Support activities, including technical management of websites. Provide customer support services including installation, configuration, troubleshooting, customer assistance, and training in response to user requirements. Responsibilities will increase and assignments will become more complex as your training and experience progress. GS-11:
To be qualify at the GS-11 level, you must meet at least ONE of the following conditions, as defined below:
Specialized Experience, Education, OR a Combination of Education and Experience. Specialized
Experience:
One full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-9 level. Specialized experience is defined as experience performing work related to Litigation Support (LS) services such as analysis, processing and sorting of electronically stored information for investigative and litigative purposes; responding to Litigation Support matters during the lifecycle of trial preparations and presentations; creation of large databases for case files; installation/coordination of Litigation Support software/equipment; resolving hardware/software interface and interoperability problems in regards to Litigation Support and ensuring users are aware of security issues. Experience is required in the use of Litigation Technology and Forensic Software, for example:
Law PreDiscovery, Ipro Eclipse Suite, Relativity, FTK Data Access and Cellbrite Forensic Suite. OR Education:
One of the following types of education in a related field (e.g., Criminal Justice, Law, IT):
a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree; OR 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree; or LL.M. Education at the graduate level must be in an accredited college or university and must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the duties of the position. OR Combining Education and
Experience:
Combinations of successfully completed graduate education and experience may be used to meet total qualification requirements. In order to qualify based on a combination, graduate education must be in excess of 2 full years. AND Selective Placement Factor:
A selective placement factor is determined to be essential for successful performance in this position. Those candidates who do not meet the following selective placement factor will be rated not qualified for the position. Use of NUIX eDiscovery software for investigative and litigative purposes. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
