Docketing Technician (Office Automation)

If selected for this position, you will join a well-respected team that is responsible for docketing service for the District of New Jersey. Typical work assignments will include:
Inputting and maintaining data in automated docketing databases and systems. Receiving and reviewing incoming case files and documents Analyzing content to determine the nature of the United States Attorney's Office's interest and course of action. Reviewing case files to ensure all information is correct and completes records as necessary. Researching files or legal reference material. Responsibilities will increase and assignments will become more complex as your training and experience progress. To be eligible at the GS-6 level, you must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-5 level. Specialized experience is defined as performing the entry of data into databases and case tracking systems and updating of records; receiving case files and documents and determining cause of action; determining legal action on incoming cases and making appropriate referral prior to coding and data entry. To be qualified, you must type at least 40 words per minute based on a 5 minute sample with three or fewer errors. (A typing test may later be required.) Interagency Career Transition Assistance Plan (ICTAP)- The ICTAP provides eligible displaced Federal competitive service employees with selection priority over other candidates for competitive service vacancies. If your agency has notified you in writing that you are a displaced employee eligible for ICTAP consideration, you may receive selection priority if:

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
