SUPERVISORY EQUAL-OPPORTUNITY SPECIALIST

The following are the duties of this position at the GS-14. If you are selected at a lower grade level, you will have the opportunity to learn to perform all these duties, and will receive training to help you grow in this position. Supervise a staff and manages other resources to achieve maximum efficiency and balance in utilizing the resources assigned. Assign priorities and prepare schedules for completion of work. Assign work to subordinates based on priorities of the Branch and ensures work is efficiently and effectively carried out. Find ways to improve production or Increase the quality of work directed. Implement ways to eliminate or significantly reduce bottlenecks and barriers to production, promote team or improve business practices. Provide technical requirements and descriptions of work to be accomplished and establishes standards for acceptable work. Direct the development of data to be used by the Regional Director; provision expertise and insights; secure legal opinions; prepare position papers or legislative and regulatory proposals; and the execution of activities, which support the development of goals and objectives related to high levels of program management and operations. Serve as principal advisor to the FHEO Center Director on FHEO matters; advise the Director on aspects of FHEO programs and activities affecting the Center's Director's area of responsibility. Carry out responsibilities under Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964; Section 109 of the Housing and Community Development Act of 1974, as amended; Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973; and Equal Hous1ng Opportunity pursuant to relevant Executive Orders. Monitor voluntary compliance agreements with PHAs and other recipients to assure implementation of plan to achieve equal opportunity requirements. Represent the FHEO Center on fair housing and equal opportunity matters that fall under the Center's jurisdiction at various State and local conferences, symposia, workshops, meetings and other gatherings sponsored by Governors, Mayors, and various organizations and groups Interested in equal opportunity. Monitor and provide technical assistance to grant recipients under the Fair Housing Initiatives Program and Fair Housing Assistance Programs to assure affirmative compliance with the requirements of the laws, executive orders, and the statement of work related to their federal assistance. Experience:
GS-14 Specialized experience is one (1) year of experience at the GS-13 level, or equivalent, which is directly related to the position as listed in this announcement and has equipped the candidate with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the duties of the position successfully. Specialized experience is defined as follows:
- Supervising staff or providing oversight of the analyses and application of fair housing laws and equal opportunity regulations such as the Fair Housing Act, Title VIII of the Civil Rights Act of 1968, Title VI of the Civil Rights of 1964, Section 109 of the Housing and Community Development Act of 1974, Section 3 of the Housing and Urban Development Act of 1968, Section 504 of the 1973 Rehabilitation Act, and Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act or other civil rights laws and regulations; AND - Addressing a wide variety of employee, stakeholder, and client issues to collect and present factual information to aid in resolution of complaints and/or compliance reviews and drafting determinations and Letters of Findings; AND - Identifying and recommending solutions for particularly extensive equal opportunity problems as well as the enforcement of the applicable civil rights statutes. GS-13 Specialized experience is one (1) year of experience at the GS-12 level, or equivalent, which is directly related to the position as listed in this announcement and has equipped the candidate with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the duties of the position successfully. Specialized experience is defined as follows:
- Performing analyses and applying fair housing laws and equal opportunity regulations such as the Fair Housing Act (also known as Title VIII of the Civil Rights Act of 1968), Title VI of the Civil Rights of 1964, Section 109 of the Housing and Community Development Act of 1974, Section 3 of the Housing and Urban Development Act of 1968, Section 504 of the 1973 Rehabilitation Act, and Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act or other civil rights laws and regulations; AND - Addressing a wide variety of employee, stakeholder, and client issues to collect and present factual information to aid in resolution of individual complaints and/or compliance reviews and drafting determinations and Letters of Findings; AND - Identifying and recommending solutions for equal opportunity problems.Time-in-Grade:
In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable:
For the GS-14, you must have been at the GS-13 level for 52 weeks.For the GS-13, you must have been at the GS-12 level for 52 weeks.Time After Competitive Appointment:
Candidates who are current Federal employees serving on a non-temporary competitive appointment must have served at least three months in that appointment.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
