TASC has a need for a Lead System Engineer to support the Broadband Technologies Opportunities Program (BTOP) for the state of New Jersey in developing an interoperable public safety broadband network dedicated for first responders. The objective is to complete testing and validation of critical features and functionality of the network. Engineers will be assigned to various project teams to help with System Staging, Site Installation and Test, Functional Test and Special Operational Test. This includes creating documentation, executing test documentation and providing status to the Project Manager. The Lead Systems Engineer will serve as the senior member of the engineering team and will oversee/direct engineering operations as needed. Specific responsibilities of the systems engineering role include:
Pre-installation testing (at The Colony, Texas facility)
Installation testing per site (26 sites in New Jersey)
Functional testing and special operational testing (New Jersey)
Requires travel to The Colony, Texas for Staging Activities and various locations in New Jersey for Implementation Activities
Experience:
Must have experience serving in a lead role.
Must have a minimum of five (5) years related job experience.
Must have competence in LTE, telecom deployments and IP networking.
Must have been responsible for developing and implementing Test Plans for LTE equipment including RAN, EPC and Devices. Experience in public safety 700 mhz D block band 14 is a plus.
Experience testing mobile deployable systems (COWS (Cells on wheels), COLTS (Cells on Light Trucks)); operating LTE test equipment like the Spirent C100 LANDSLIDE IP DATA TEST SYSTEM; testing backhaul systems (Satellite terminals, microwave and optical fiber systems); conducting functional and system level requirements to predetermined SLAs; developing pass/fail reports and recommended actions for mediation of failures; Live drive testing; RF interference testing; LTE wireless mobile network optimization / testing.
Knowledge of The State of New Jersey codes and requirements.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
