Are you ready to take off on your next career with us?Job SummaryClass A Mechanic must possess professional-level experience working with electronically controlled systems and understand how they interact with the general transportation system or mechanical devices.
This person must be able to work autonomously or be able to supervise a team of contractor personnel in the repair or maintenance of equipment.
The Class A Mechanic should be familiar with the use of electronic and electrical troubleshooting equipment, such as volt meters, oscilloscope, and fiber optic test equipment.
Responsibilities The routines of Class A Mechanics will include the maintenance of the controls and devices of the BHS, PLC, VFD, RFID reader devices and controllers.
It will routinely check the status of these devices and track all maintenance using the CMMS.
Troubleshoots, repairs, and maintains machinery and electrical equipment such as motors, electrical circuits, diseased ATR systems, baggage management equipment, and conveyor systems according to diagrams, electrical drawings, operational manuals, and manufacturer specifications using hand tools and instruments that measure and test accuracy.
Examine diagnosis and repair mechanical and electrical systems.
Communicate with various parties about the work done and the current state of specialized systems.
Analyze the root causes of electrical failures and propose remedy and resolution as well as continuous monitoring for ways to improve and optimize the system.
Interpret engineering schematics and drawings in reference to the layout, location, and operation of system Minimum Requirements Must be at least 18 years of age.
High-school diploma, GED or Equivalent Valid driver's license Must be able to work a flexible schedule for a 24/7 operation including nights, weekends, and/or holidays.
Background check and drug screen required Must be able to attain and sustain an Airport I.
D.
Badge Over 5 years' mechanic experience Experience working on voltage up to 480v, including AC and DC voltage from the power supply of BHS controls and/or other devices.
A working knowledge of how (logical) controls interact with the mechanical side of the system.
Must be able to obtain and maintain an airport identification badge Ability to solve problems independantly, or as part of a team, while in the field Preferred Skills Certification from a vocational school or completion of certified program Excellent knowledge of machinery and hydraulic, electrical, and other systems and their components Aptitude in the use of various hand tools (screwdrivers, hammers, etc.
) and precision measuring tools (e.
g.
, tweezers) Ability to follow established procedures and practices and to read instruction, models, etc.
Maintain current and accurate documentation of systems Ability to manage multiple priorities Excellent verbal and written communication skills Excellent Time Management skills Physical Requirements/Working Conditions Employees work in the assured management areas of baggage, at repair stations, or at airfields and often must meet strict deadlines to maintain flight schedules.
Employees will be working with and exposed to the baggage handling system, mechanical parts, and vibration.
Employees may be exposed to various noise levels due to aircraft engines and equipment.
Employees bend, lean, and frequently reach ladders and scaffolding.
Employees are required to regularly speak and hear.
Employees are often required to reach with their hands and arms.
Employees may be required to perform a variety of activities that could include standing, walking, bending, kneeling, crawling, and climbing throughout their day.
Employees frequently lift and/or move items over 50 pounds with the help of teammates.
Employees will lift parts and tools for long periods of time and handle equipment such as transportation systems.
Employees will be working with and exposed to the baggage handling system, mechanical parts, and vibration.
Employees may be exposed to various noise levels due to aircraft engines and equipment.
