Summary:
Serves as a clinical resource to staff, demonstrating clinical expertise in his/her specialty area in the scrub and circulating role.
In collaboration with Nurse Manager ensures that quality nurse care is delivered to all patients on the unit in accordance with the mission, vision, policies and procedures of the hospital.
Liaises with appropriate departments and vendors to ensure supply and equipment availability for Ensures supplies and equipment are available Assists with the development of patient care standards, orientation and continuing education.
Serves as a liaison between physicians and administration to ensure expectations are met.
Evaluates staff performance in accordance with organization policies.
Participates in nursing Quality Improvement.
Assists with unit administration, including scheduling, payroll and maintenance of supplies and equipment.
Uses an understanding of the principles of growth and development assess each patient s age specific needs and provide age specific treatment and care.
EDUCATION:
Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing.
Bachelor of Science in Nursing REQUIREMENTS:
Current and active NJ licensure as a Registered Nurse in New Jersey.
BLS and NRP Certification required NICU Certification preferred BSN degree preferred.
Minimum 3-5 years of current and active nursing experience in a level III NICU.
Demonstrated charge or leadership experience.
Outcome and goal oriented Successful completion of all Orientation Programs.
