Responsibilities:
The basic purpose of the Program Support Coordinator (NJEMSTF - Logistics) is to, under the direction of the Director EMS in conjunction with the leadership of the NJEMSTF, provide logistics support and expertise related to domestic preparedness in accordance with guidelines set by UH, State, and Federal government for, and on behalf of, the State of New Jersey; to assist in the procurement, delivery, tracking, and distribution of all emergency equipment and supplies on behalf of the NJEMSTF; to serve as a liaison to various organizations which have EMS/emergency/domestic preparedness related missions, goals, and objectives; to serve as the primary Logistics Section Chief when the NJEMSTF is deployed and Logistics Manager role for the NJEMSTF on a day-to-day basis.
Will also be required to respond to emergency assignments and deployments of the NJEMSTF.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Public Administration or Health, Materials Management, Planning, or other related field.
Plus at least four (4) years of related EMS experience.
Must be able to pass a medical evaluation and a respirator fit test and wear an N95 particulate filter respirator mask in accordance with PEOSHA standards as a condition of employment.
Must possess and demonstrate knowledge of Federal, and State emergency operations plan/program requirements and have a strong knowledge of EMS and other medical-related equipment and supplies.
Must be a member of the NJ EMS Task Force eligible.
Must possess and demonstrate excellent verbal and written communications and computer skills.
Must possess outstanding human relations and project management skills and the ability to function in a team environment.
Applicants lacking the degree may substitute additional years of experience on a year-for-year basis.
The Program Support Coordinator must possess and maintain current and active credentials in good standing (as determined by initial and periodic Primary Source Verification) as follows:
Must have at least four (4) years EMS experience.
Must have at least two (2) years of EMS driving experience with good driving record.
Bi-lingual English/Spanish skills preferred.
Must possess and maintain current and active credentials in good standing (as determined by initial and periodic Primary Source Verification) as follows:
Active, valid certification as an Emergency Medical Technician.
Certification issued by the National Registry OR states of NJ, PA, NY, DE, MD, VA, WV, or the District of Columbia, or any other member of the Atlantic EMS council.
NJ EMT Reciprocity must be obtained within six (6) months of employment.
Driver's license with NJ driving privileges.
Driver's license must be in accordance with the DOT/MVC regulations for the type/size/weight of the vehicle(s) as assigned.
Must be an authorized driver approved by the EMS Operations Coordinator.
American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for the Healthcare Provider Incident Command System (ICS) Level 400 or equivalent National Incident Management System (NIMS) Awareness (FEMA IS-700) National Response Plan, an Introduction (FEMA IS-800) or equivalent Hazardous Materials - Operations level Weapons of Mass Destruction or Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear, Explosive (CBRNE) - Operations level It is preferred that the Program Support Coordinator has completed the Federal Emergency Management Administration (FEMA) Logistics Manager course.
It is preferred that the Program Support Coordinator have experience in emergency operations, communications, information technology, and command and control in addition to the experience required above.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
On a routine and daily basis, be required to work with small to medium sized groups of people in a quiet to moderately noisy office environment, drive or ride short to moderate distances to and from off-site meetings, and to work with and around electronic and communications equipment during standard business hours.
Must be able to work in all weather and environmental conditions.
May be required to work at emergency scenes or in disaster situations for prolonged periods of time under very stressful conditions.
