Job Summary

Provide overall proactive management of the Inside Plant Design and Engineering Function for Delivery Projects and construction including System Protection Engineering, Design Engineering, Project Engineering and Engineering Services with respect to PSE&G s Electric Transmission and Distribution Inside Plant Design engineering needs and requirements. Overall technical responsibility and accountability for the safe and efficient engineering and design of all projects both planned and emergency. Ensure all company and industry standards are met for Design and Construction. This position is responsible for supporting the current planned portfolio of Engineering and Design work of over $1B per year for the foreseeable future. This position will also support the inside plant engineering and design requirements for all work outside of PSE&G s current operating portfolio including FERC 1000 work.
Responsible for planning, organizing and directing the engineering and design functions and improvement of PSE&G electric inside plant transmission and distribution facilities. Provide leadership and guidance regarding development of short and long-term strategic initiatives supporting all project milestones and schedules throughout the portfolio. Sponsor engineering strategies to meet project requirements internal and external to PSE&G s service territory as the company continues to pursue work outside of our traditional service territory. Evaluate the effectiveness of current engineering practices and standards, and develop and manage the implementation of changes to improve the process. Oversee the engineering and design of the extensive transmission portfolio. Assure adherence to the budget and schedule plan. Assure the development and attainment of an environment that fosters a high performance culture and a learning organization.

Job Responsibilities

Responsible and accountable for the life cycle management of inside plant project engineering performance associated with multiple projects from conception through completion
Direct and lead project engineers, system protection engineers, designers, and drawing management personnel responsible to provide engineering and design for switching and substations
Provide management oversight, direction, and leadership of the human resources within the organization. Provide accurate and timely feedback regarding performance and operations. Conduct performance reviews; identify opportunities for growth and learning
Sponsor the Rotational Engineering Development Program ensure newly hired engineers are trained and developed in multiple positions throughout DP&C. Work to expand this throughout the company
Direct and lead the development of Project Measurement Tools to ensure all critical milestones are met on all inside plant projects both planned and emergency. Roll these tools out to all Projects performed by PSE&G including FERC 1000 Projects
Represent PSE&G on numerous state / national industry organizations, steering committees, public associations, and rule-making bodies to direct and influence the course of future state and federal engineering policies towards favorable outcomes, including
Provide expert engineering witness testimony in support of transmission project approvals before municipal planning bodies, the NJBPU, FERC, PJM, and others
Interface with all levels of management and senior level external constituents

Job Specific Qualifications

Required Skills, Knowledge and
Experience:
Bachelor s Degree in Engineering or Business or related field
Minimum 10 years of project management experience, managing in the energy delivery business
Minimum 10 years Transmission and Delivery Field experience at the leadership level
Minimum 7 years experience directing and managing Transmission and Delivery projects
Extensive leadership and managerial experience
As the job requires driving to Company locations and off-site assignments and events, must possess a valid U.S. driver s license with a safe and satisfactory driving history

Preferred / Desired Skills:
MBA or Graduate Degree in Project Management, Finance, Engineering or related field
Knowledge of Transmission & Delivery equipment and systems

years supporting Transmission and engineering initiatives
Experience in managing complex organizations with multiple and conflicting priorities
