This is our direct-client opening for a Cyber Security Analyst located in Newark, NJ. This is for an 8
month contract. The client will entertain nationwide candidates including H1b candidates. The client will conduct phone and Skype interviews. The hourly rate depends on experience (DOE).
Job Description
Assists senior staff in the evaluation, development, implementation and operational aspects of security standards, procedures and guidelines supporting the companys information security plan and Sarbanes Oxley compliance to assure the effectiveness of existing procedures and policies and to detect changes and report on their impacts to the compliance program.
Participate in the evaluation, development, maintenance and implementation of security standards, procedures, compliance documentation and guidelines for multiple platforms and diverse systems environment (e.g., firm-wide, distributed, client server systems, and e-applications) to prevent, minimize or recover quickly from cyber-attacks and other serious events and to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
Review the development, testing and implementation of security plans, products and control techniques to ensure sound information security and compliance with Sarbanes Oxley regulations and includes supporting compliance with proper IT change management processes and documentation for all hardware and software modifications.
Support and coordinate compliance reviews and audits with companys internal auditors as well as external auditors.
Provide support for compliance strategy development in collaboration with senior IT leadership, Internal Audit and Internal Controls.
Prepare quarterly results decks; evaluate results and remediation plans; and prepare trend analysis dashboard.
Assure that process and control documentation (narratives, flowcharts, controls) are updated by the established due dates and kept up to date throughout the year if changes are necessary.
Perform related duties and special projects as assigned or requested.
Required Skills, Competencies, Education or Experience
Bachelor Degree in Computer Science or related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience. Without a Bachelors degree, at least eight, typically ten or more years of diverse work experience in IT.
Three to five years of business experience in areas of technology or business process analysis using defined and structured continuous process improvement and re-engineering techniques.
Three to five years auditing IT controls for SAP as well as IT General Controls for SOX compliance.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Demonstrated continuous process improvement techniques.
Strong problem solving and root cause analysis skills and sound decision-making skills and business judgment.
Excellent organizational, interpersonal and team building skills.
Desired Skills, Competencies, Education or Experience
Demonstrate experience coordinating audits, responding to and supporting data requests, and reporting out results.
Experience in implementing regulatory / industry standards compliance strategies specifically Sarbanes-Oxley and NERC CIP.
Knowledge of IT, networking, and IP protocol concepts.
Proficiencies with the use of risk and control frameworks, and process improvement models (e.g. Risk IT, ISO Standards, COBIT, COSO, CMM, etc.).
