Server Technologies professionals:
Develop and deliver server technology strategies and solutions that enable computers residing on the same or different systems to access and utilize enterprise data. Provide solutions to complex business problems for area(s) of responsibility where analysis of situations requires an in depth knowledge of organizational objectives. Set strategic directions to establish near term goals for area of responsibility. Interact with senior management levels at a client and/or within company, which involves negotiating or influencing on significant matters. Has latitude in decision-making and determining objectives and approaches to critical assignments. Manages large teams and/or work efforts (if in an individual contributor role) at a client or within company.
Basic Qualifications
Minimum of 4 years of hands on experience with server and operating system technologies (IBM/HP/Dell/Cisco UCS, Open Compute), including architecture and design. Minimum of 4 years of hands on experience with virtualization technologies (VMware, Citrix Xen, Hyper-V, LPARs, VPARs, Logical Domains, Zones, and/or Containers). Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree.
Preferred Skills:
Fundamental knowledge of Cloud including Infrastructure as a Service, public and private cloud solutions. Hands on experience with OpenStack, including understanding of the various components and architectures, key integration points, and familiarity the various open source standards. Knowledge and experience with Software Defined Data Centers tools and technologies. Hands on experience with the VMware suit of virtualization tools, including vCloud Director and vCloud orchestrator. Deep understanding, hands on experience and certification in at least one hypervisor technology and methodology eg VMW, Xen, KVM, OVM, Hyper-V. Ability to administer, modify, and/or deploy at least one Operating System en mass. eg Solaris, Linux, Windows, etc. Experience with cloud based infrastructure architecture and design, including orchestration and automation. Knowledge and experience with converged infrastructure. Data Center/Server Operational Components (Monitoring, Management, etc.). ITIL concepts, in particular for Help Desk, Incident, and Problem Management. Asset Management (Experience with tools/process). Designing and implementing server solutions. Designing scalable server architectures for critical business systems that may leverage external cloud solutions Experience in project management and detailed technical planning. Infrastructure capacity planning and management. Implementing disaster recovery processes and procedures. Maintaining problem tracking and resolution at a detailed level for service requests. Performance tuning of Servers and operating systems.
