Requirements:

  • Doctor of medicine or doctor of osteopathy degree from an accredited U.
    S.
    school of medicine or osteopathy; foreign graduates may apply with permanent certificate from the Educational Council of Foreign Medical Graduates
  • Current license to practice medicine in the United States, District of Columbia or Puerto Rico
  • Eligibility for board certification
  • Completion of at least one year of an approved graduate medical education internship
  • Between 21 and 42 years of age (waivers granted on a case-by-case basis)

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
