Financial Analyst

Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Financial Analyst for the Department of Surgery within the New Jersey Medical School.
Under the direction of the Senior Director of Administration, the Financial Analyst will provide support with the day-to-day management of all fiscal operations of the department.
Provide financial support with pre- and post-awards including grants, contracts, and various budget and finance functions on restricted and non-restricted accounts.
Assists with short- and long-term planning and assists with financial projections and analysis.
Develops and analyzes fiscal and administrative data.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
Handles departmental administration for pre- and post-award grant administration.
Works with the departmental faculty on proposal submissions, effectively planning and scheduling activities that guide faculty through the application process, providing sound project budgets, and ensuring proposals are submitted to the Office for Research within the requested timeframe.
Prepares monthly reconciliations and projections for unrestricted accounts and restricted gift and grant accounts.
Reviews and reconciles all expenditures for funding availability and appropriate programmatic support of department's strategic mission and objectives.
Analyzes clinical and financial data and prepares financial and administrative documents and reports for internal and external purposes (e.
g.
call center data reporting and RVU calculations).
Participates and collaborates with Revenue Cycle Team for the surgical practices.

Prepares and reviews department financial transactions and documents.
Minimum Education and Experience Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance or related field.
Applicants who do not have the degree may substitute equivalent education, experience, and/or training for the requirements on a year for year basis.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Experience with MS Office (including Excel).
Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
Strong organizational and financial skills.
Must have the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
