The Enterprise Valuation Group (EVG) within Asset & Liability Management (ALM) Finance is responsible for establishing corporate valuation policies, monitoring and testing valuations of certain Prudential-owned investments and supporting GAAP fair value reporting activities. The group is responsible for affirming that the firm's financial asset/liability valuations are based on objective methods and reliable market information.
The EVG team includes individuals with skills and experiences that include accounting policy, financial reporting, procedures development and quantitative modeling, all in the context of valuation.
The Valuation Methodologies Associate is responsible for the following activities:
With management guidance, review and validate business unit valuation methodologies, pricing models, and systems
Assist with independent valuations for a range of complex assets including public and private fixed income; structured finance instruments; interest rate, currency, and equity derivatives; private equity
Help assess valuation processes in the context of Prudential's policies and guidelines, as well as guidance from regulatory authorities, such as SEC, FASB, and Federal Reserve.
Assist business partners in development and maintenance of valuation and reserving methodologies
Develop reports for management including performance metrics, valuation attribution, documentation of reviews
Support the development and maintenance of enterprise policies, standards, and guidelines for valuation processes, methods, and organizational support
Assist business units in valuation-related decisions including implementation of vendor software, and design of management reports
Undergraduate Degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering or similar
3 years of experience in quantitative financial modeling and pricing techniques for a range of asset classes
Knowledge of financial security valuation principles and practices
Knowledge of validation practices for quantitative models, including valuation- and modeling-related guidance by regulatory authorities
Strong analytical and verbal/written communication skills
Basic understanding of GAAP as related to valuation
Knowledge of tools such as VBA, Matlab, C/C , SAS
General FinanceEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
